Summer activity: Pond-Dipping! 

There’s nothing that fascinates kids like messy play. Sludge, slime, water, mud… and bonus points for creepy-crawlies! There’s one activity that generally ticks all these boxes, and that’s pond-dipping!

I learnt very early on as a mum that I needed to keep my little ones entertained when we went out to family parties, a restaurant or anywhere that wasnt of interest to an excited toddler.

Now my children are 5 and 3 I still carry a little bag for each of them and quite often some paper and pens.

It's definitely a tough environment out there in the retail world at the moment. There is alot of news and press attention on the high street and big names struggling. 

There was a programme on Channel 4 a few nights ago called Supershoppers Sales Special. It highlighted some of the tactics used by some of the bigger names when discounting and offering sales.

Creating your own Advent calendar, or filling little drawers or stockings has become really popular. I have had a few people ask about toys which can specifically fit into small pockets as an alternative to a chocolate treat. 

I have a drawer advent calendar whereby the drawers are only 3cm square so I know how difficult it is to find small items which will be enjoyed.
